WHAT COURTOIS SAID
Mbappe is joining a squad that already includes match-winners such as Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, with Belgian goalkeeper Courtois telling of Real’s latest ‘Galactico’: “Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and in the end, it’s better for him to be on your team than against you. He is a player who can make a difference as we have with Bellingham, with Vinicius, and adding Mbappe to that will only help us.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Real are holders of La Liga and Champions League crowns, with Mbappe expected to keep them in contention for major honours across the board in 2024-25. Courtois added: “We will be even stronger with him. Mbappe has been added to our WhatsApp group chat. We just have to find a way to play with him and help him, and I think he’s going to help us win a lot of trophies and I’m sure it’s going to be a great year, he’s going to shine, he’s going to score a lot of goals and help us win trophies.”
